Somatic Healing

Somatic Healing & Bodywork.

Trauma does not just live in memory. It lives in the body. This is how we meet it there.

What this is

The truth your body has been holding.

Some things cannot be reasoned through. They live below language, in the breath that shortens before you know why, in the muscle that holds against something it sensed long before your mind caught up. Trauma is not just a memory. It is a body-state. And the body will hold it faithfully until something meets it at that level, with the right kind of presence, at the right pace.

I bring over 15 years of licensed massage and deep-tissue practice into this work, combined with somatic and nervous-system-informed approaches developed specifically for trauma. This is not standard bodywork. Every session is informed by a deep understanding of how the body stores experience, how it protects itself, and what it needs to begin letting go.

We are not fixing the body. We are listening to it. And giving the parts of you that have been bracing for years permission to finally exhale. You are safe here. We go only as deep as your body is ready to go, and never further.

What we work with

The territory of the body

Nervous system regulation

Working gently with the body's stress responses and teaching the nervous system, with patience and care, that it is safe to come back down.

Body-stored trauma

The places where old experience is still held in tissue, breath, and posture. We do not force them open. We invite them, slowly and safely, when the body is ready.

Dissociation and body reconnection

When the self has learned to leave in order to survive, this work is the slow, safe practice of returning. Not forcing presence, but making it possible again.

Embodied safety

The kind of safety that is not a thought. It is a felt experience in the body. The state your nervous system remembers when something is genuinely okay.

Breath and rhythm

The ways breath gets cut off when we brace, and the gentle practice of letting it return, without forcing, without performance, at whatever pace feels true.

Resourcing

Building an interior felt-sense of safety, steadiness, and capacity. The kind that lives in your body and travels with you long after the session ends.

How sessions unfold

The shape of the work

In-person bodywork in Austin, TX

Hands-on somatic sessions integrating deep tissue, fascia release, and trauma-informed touch. Ninety minutes to two hours, on the table, with full attention to whatever the body is asking to be met. A warm, safe space where you set the pace entirely.

Somatic coaching online

For clients outside Austin, somatic work happens through video. Guided body-tracking, breath, micro-movements, and resourcing practices, all in service of the same nervous system, wherever you are in the world.

Always paced by your body

Nothing is forced. Nothing is rushed. We work at the speed your nervous system can actually integrate. Sometimes that means going slow. Sometimes that means going slower than that. Both are exactly right.

Often woven with coaching

For many clients, somatic work pairs beautifully with the coaching work. The body and the story belong to the same person, and healing moves faster when both are tended to together.

Who this is for

When the body is asking.

Your body is stuck somewhere your mind cannot reach.

No matter what you understand or have been told, something in you stays contracted, guarded, or numb. The stuck place is not in your thinking. It is in your tissue. And it is ready to be met.

You cannot quite rest.

Chronic tension, vigilance, the low hum of alertness that will not turn off even when everything is technically fine. Your system has been on for a long time. It needs gentle help learning it is allowed to come down.

You are carrying trauma, whether you have named it that or not.

Childhood experiences, acute events, dissociation, the slow accumulation of not being safe or seen. Whether you have a diagnosis or just a feeling that something has never resolved, the body knows. And it is ready to begin.

You want to feel at home in your own body.

Not numb. Not armored. Not enduring. You want to live in a body that feels like yours, where presence is possible and safety is something you actually feel, not just believe. That is what this work makes possible.
